This includes a bias tape tutorial!

STEP 4: Main Body Construction

I don't have a ton of photos of this part, because I'm lazy.

But after I got the main pink pieces sewn together, it looked like this:

Which makes more sense if you've seen this:

Then I put the white portion over the top of the pink.

STEP 5: Trim

I've made a mini tutorial on putting on bias tape (I guess to make up for lack of photos earlier). This is, of course, how to put trim on by hand. Machine-wise, it's a little different. With this method, there will not be any stitches showing.

I'm going to put the bias tape over the edge here, hiding the ratty edge. I don't have to hem the edge, as it will be covered. (Cutting Corners 101)

First, I'm cutting off the really long threads that have unraveled.

Make sure to use double fold bias tape!

It will go on like so. I'm going to hem it after I put the bias tape on, so I don't have to fold the end or do anything tricky.

In order to make wrap go around the pink material, we must pin the first flap to the front of the pink fabric.

Then we must Sew in the Ditch. That is the seam at the top of the first flap. I'm using pink thread, so in case the trim gets pulled, it won't stand out against the pink fabric. I used a back stitch.

This is what the front will look like, if you want to check it as you work.

When you are done with sewing it on the front, we must sew down the back.

Fold the bias tape on center fold, and wrap around the fabric.

Put the needle through the pink material, but not the tape on the front.

Make sure to fold the last flap down. Put the needle through the last flap, but not the flap on top, to make a stitch. Thus, the stitch will be hidden underneath. I'm using yellow thread so that in case I go through the top, it will be less noticeable.

Pull it taunt.

Apparently I forgot to take a clear photo of the next step, but the next step is to make a stitch in the pink material, making sure not to go though the bias tape on the front. Then you pull the needle through the last flap, stitch and repeat. This is called an invisible slip stitch.

I'm not a professional, but this how I do it and it works for me. :)
