Cosplay: Mirai Yashima (Part 1)

While I will continue to mention my progress on LiveJournal, I will document it here (mainly to get this journal some purpose).
STEP 1: References
References are always important! While I have a ton of screenshots (and those are great for different angles), I want the main basis to be from the original character design.

Luckily, I have this giant tome of Gundam characters.

Mirai's the one in the middle, of course. ;)

Some in black and white too.
STEP 2: Accessories

The wig, from Cosworx. Bob in Color 6.
(yes, some slightly older photos from last month)

I'm not going to worry too much about the bangs being perfect.

The boots.
Not quite the correct color, but they will have to suffice.

The leggings (bought especially for Mirai at Target)
Put them together and what do you get!

Hmm, the boots looked darker here in the photos. They looks a little more reddish in better lighting.
STEP 3: Materials

Zipper bought for this project awhile back. The thread and bias tape are from other projects.

However, the bias tape here is single fold. This will work for the rankings on the shoulder, but not for there trim around zipper.

This is double fold (of red, which is not needed for this project)

It didn't photograph too well, but when I get to that part, I'll hopefully have better photos to explain.

The fabric that I already had, plus some white bias tape I might use for the white stripes on the chest.

What I got today (plus the vinyl for the belt, I had that already)
The flash kinda washed out the pink in the photo. I got some pink thread to match the fabric, and craft form for the yellow parts of the belt.
Part 2 coming soon!
Love,
Mirai ^_~
